Is QFest the same festival as the Philadelphia International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival?
A:
Yes, we have changed the name; the other name was way too long. The programming staff remain the same, the Philadelphia QFest is presented by TLA Entertainment Group and the non-profit Philadelphia Cinema Alliance.

When is the next festival taking place?
A:
QFest09 is scheduled to take place July 9th – July 20th 2009

What is the deadline for QFest submissions?
A:

Is the Philadelphia QFest a competitive festival?
A:
Yes. The Festival runs a Juried Award Competition in the following categories:
Best Feature Film
Best Documentary
Best Short
Competition selections are made by Festival programmers. Winners will be announced at the Philadelphia QFest Closing Night Ceremonies on Monday July 20th. As of this time, no cash prizes are given.

We also ballot our audience for Audience Awards in the following categories:
Audience Award for Best Feature Film
Audience Award for Best Documentary Film
Audience Award for Best Short

If I have already submitted my film when will I hear if my film has been accepted/not accepted?
A:
All program decisions will be made by mid June 2009.

Is the Philadelphia CineFest the new name for the Philadelphia Film Festival?
A:
No. While the annual April date, management and programming staff remain the same, Philadelphia CineFest is presented by the non-profit Philadelphia Cinema Alliance and is no longer connected to the Philadelphia Film Festival/Philadelphia Film Society

What type of films do you accept?
A:
The Festival is seeking all genres - features, shorts, animation, experimental and documentaries in film (35mm) and/or video format (digibeta/beta SP NTSC and PAL). ONLY Films completed in 2009 or early 2010 will be eligible for submission.

Our deadline for unsolicited submissions is December 31st 2009

How do I submit my film to CineFest10?
A:
We will be opening submissions to CineFest10 in early September. See our website at www.phillycinefest.com for details.
Q:
Can I submit more than one film to CineFest10?
A:
Yes. Any number of titles may be submitted by an entrant. However, each title must have its own separate entry form, review copy (DVD) and entry fee.

How much is the entry fee?
A:
Entry fees are based on running time and are non-refundable. Payment must be made in U.S. dollars only to the Philadelphia Cinema Alliance. Payment for US entries may be made by check, money order, Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover. Payment for international entries must be made by Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover.
Under 50 minutes: $15
50 minutes or longer $30

Does the programming team travel to festivals to see films?
A:
Yes. The programming team does travel to the major domestic and overseas festivals to see films. Raymond Murray, Artistic Director and Carol Coombes, Associate Artistic Director will be attending the 2009 Toronto Film Festival and the 2010 Sundance Film Festival.
